new layout, new features
i finally upgraded my blog to a more modern back end and layout. i’m using wordpress now, which the latest version of the free php blog b2. everyone and their mom uses movable type these days, but i’m more comfortable hacking php than perl. the conversion from greymatter was super simple. the stylesheet still needs work. and i won’t have all the features figured out for awhile.
thanks to john and danah for periodically poking me to get RSS feeds. that was great motivation. i also wanted to go tableless for the layout.
let me know what y’all think!

things to do next:
- go through my previous 157 entries and categorize them
- create redirects for old links, so anyone linking to my old layout (and also cross links in my own entries) will still get where they want to go.

finished the categorization, things to do next:
- add a ‘links of the day’ list that i can easily bookmarklet when i find funny items
- install alex’s photos hack
- setup pings to technorati

I like the calendar- that’s a nice feature.

Come on Davee, you know you want to use MT. All the cool kids are doing it….
Actually, I think it’s cool that different sites look subtly different depending on what system you’re using. For instance, I could tell almost immediately that your new blog wasn’t an MT system.
By the way, it says “URI” on the form above, not “URL”. Is this intentional?

hrm, tableless. Oh, well, looks pretty nice anyhow.

interesting thing about the calendar. see if you feel like it becomes tyrannical. while it’s cool to look at, it also sits there, taunting you, marking how long it’s *really* been since you’ve last posted. or more sinisterly, marking low long it’s been since you’ve done something interesting.
