Divided in three steps, I will research, design, and validate your product usability.
User research gives you needed insight into your customer and avoid unwanted bias in the design. Yields an ethnographic report.
As part of a design I provide mockups, storyboarding, and sometimes customer participation to allow early user testing, refinement of requirements, and more rapid development.
Beyond user tests to validate usability, iterative tests on mockups spot problems early and ensure your first release avoids any issues.

I will help you integrate best practice user interface design into your engineering process, both from my experience in software management and from consulting to small and medium sized companies.
With over seventeen years of engineering and design experience, I'll help you not only design a usable product but implement designs.
I'm familiar with a variety of development platforms and languages, and received a CEO Technical Award at Apple for my contributions.

Expert Review
On a budget, calling an expert to review your current products or future designs will identify the most severe problems quickly. My experience with good design practices and user testing helps me identify the major issues.
A single round of user testing on your product, with four to eight customers, is an economic way to identify both the major and medium usability issues with your product or validate that your design is truly easy to use.
